For those that wonder what can be done about the V6

well, gotta say I LOVE TAX RETURNS!, roughly $5331 this year.

Now to the point.
I did confirm that the trans bolt pattern is the same as a 60* block. So no new trans needed(at least the manual does not have to be).
I am still wanting to get a definate Manifold-Manifold measurement.

Now on to the things that I know will need to be done.

Engine mounts will have to be swapped. And quite possibly I will need to have mounts welded to the engine block.
I will need custom radiator hoses, and probly some other accessory hoses will need to be fabbed.
I will need a "U" tube channel to reverse the throttle body position. And I may need to cut into the freash air duct to do this, I do not know yet.
The harness and computer are in the engine compartment so that is not a problem.
And I will need custom headers, I already have a person that is will to let me use his equipment, and he just shows me what to do, and I buy the supplies needed,

I will be making a webpage, and taking many a photo and stiff notes for those that want to move on to this swap.

I have confirmed prices on 2 engines, 1 in Wisconsin for 900-975 Including shipping, that gets the engine, harness and the comp and has 44-466K miles on it, the other is floatig around 1000 and is out of Florida and includes all the same stuff, and it has around 56K miles.

Please do not bombard me with emails, I will post a link to the site when I start the swap.

Whatever it is, it'll probably go the way all of the other dream projects from this forum have gone...

yeah I forgot to mention that, I tried to post this 2 times and it did neither, 3rd times the charm.
But yes a 3800 Series 2 Supercharged.

TomP, what can I say, you just sound like an A**h****. Like the first thread ON ALL THE BOARDS say, if your not posting anything technical, DON'T POST.

and what "dream" projects have you fulfilled Tom? None I suppose.
Oh, no wait that's right you swapped a 2.8, for Oh I remember, A 2.8! WOW what a challenge.

the technical portion of this reply,
If people did not do whatever they wanted to their car, then would we have more then 1 or 2 types to choose from? The dreamers are what make everything come true.
What I am doing, and going to be sharing, is information complete with pics and listed mods that need to be done. This is for a motor swap that many HAVE DREAMT OF, but did not have the obvious funds availibility, or did not want to deal with a potentially very difficult swap.
Now considering that I will have another car on the road when I start this project, I can fully take my time and do this down to the last detail, and pass those details on.

do you realize how much of a tease this will be forme w/the bird & the GPGT sittng beside each other? but then again, If I had the space & 1 other vehicle, the bird would have the Bonnies 400/400 in it. Oh, well, things happen for a reason. What car do you have the ecm from? I think the biggest problem will be the tranny shifting. oops, looks like your dooing a manual, wonder if the ecm cares about that?

From what I can tell, the harness and ECM are all stored underhood, and if not, I will make a aluminum box to put it there.

Yeah, the trans will not be a problem, the only thing is that pesky "shift" light will not work. The GTP engine is a like the LS1 MAF W/SD systems.

I am just not looking forward to separating the guage harness from the elec harness, but then again I may as well just get all guages directly to the engine. Tripple pillar guage here I come....

lonly have to buy, boost(HE HE), Oil pressure, and temp. The kid I bought this from already installed a A/F guage.

V6....you gotta forgive the apparent rudeness of some of us on the board sometimes when it comes to these things... It's just that we're heard dream projects like this a thousand times by a thousand different people and none of them seem to amount to anything. But hey, if you're actually crazy enough to do this, and it works out, all I gotta say is... :hail: :hail: :hail:

Good luck man.

If this IS who I think it is, then PM me.

I do gotta agree w/ Tom though. You seem like you've been here a while, so even you know that everyone TALKS a mad game, but never puts down anything decent.

That was for a friend's Camaro, moron. You obviously have no clue that I restored my car in 1997, and will do so again this year.

You seem like an a-hole, too, by the way. If you've paid attention around here, you'd have noticed that I try to get underneath EVERYONE'S skin when they talk about a turbocharge/supercharge/whatever project. I'm trying to give motivation for whoever get their damn thing finished and provide proof. So take it as you will; I really don't give half a crap about it. You finish it, I'll tell you congratulations; you don't, I won't mention it again.

And then you give all these hazy details, and tell everyone not to bombard you with details? (laughs) Whatever, dude. Good luck with it, I hope you complete it.

Hazy details, what hazy details. What details do I have to give? NONE. I HAVE NOT STARTED THE PROJECT YET.
But, when it does start, IT WILL GET FINISHED, AND OTHERS on the oard will benifit, buy knowing what needs to be done to do the swap themselves.

And here's a question for you.
Why do you make it a point to **** people off that try something new, and or different?
Try doing all a favor, and but the F*** out of what other people want to do with there cars.
