I have a 1992 Camaro RS 3.1L V-6... Car was running fine yesterday, now it just won't start... Sounds like it wants to start, but it just won't. Its not the battery, what else could it be?

Insufficient fuel pressure -- need a fuel pressure gauge to check
No spark -- Test and/or replace ICM, coil, or pickup coil inside distributor.

Yeah, mines doing the same thing. I tried everything and asked everyone. I think that the timing chain skipped or broke (dont really think it broke though) so i am going to check soon. I highly recommend checking the pressure in each cylinder, check fuel pressure, check spark, check timing (can be done without running engine, right?).

Remove a plug wire, insert a paperclip into plug boot, lay this wire next to solid metal under hood & check for spark.
SPARK MUST BE LIGHTENNG BOLT BRIGHT WHITE or it will not start.
Change anything lately?
MAYBE the ECM is confused & it won't start.
Don't laugh, mine was like that
I changed the MAS & my computer didn't like it & car wouldn't start until I cleared computer & put it into a learn idle mode.
This also happened at my mechanic or as I call him, the Higher Source!
Unless ya give more background details we may not be able to offer more solid answers to help ya.
PS Coils go bad, too, but, we need more details from ya.

It started for no reason 24 hours later... Wet wires maybe? It backfires a lot and I really think that the timing is off. What a moody car!

May I suggest this?
Clear the ECM
Here's how I was just educated by my Higher Source & it sure worked great!
Disconnect the NEGATIVE CABLE
For about 10 minutes
Connect it
Get into car & close door!
Turn key to ignition & you'll see the Check Engine light flash ONCE then stay solid!
Turn on car.
Let it idle for about a minute or so.
Go for a drive
Get to spot in road ya can speed up to 3,000 RPM Very/rather quickly, continue drive for a few more.
Go back home car should & could be better.
I've had to do this several times as I've changed my MAS & I have EGR troubles.
I can honestly say this works so well it's scary.

Yes, you can confuse the hell outta ECM to cause it not to have car start, also.

you might just have a dead spot in the starter. replace it & it will be cured.
