wheres chc

Any one seen CHC I finally got around to putting one of his sets off his headers on and well the passenger side I got into position but the bolts wouldt line up the egr hook up was well if you put it on i would run into the inner fender wall. the
driver side you cant even get into position because the collector hits the firewall. In general their to wide and needed to be more compact. I know their are more people out there
that have bought these and Im wondering If anyone
else has tried to get them on.

sounds a lot different than the ones I got. I test fitted the alignment on my 2.8 heads, and the egr hookup seemed to be fine. and the driver side hit the firewall? it should be going down, not back.

I have a set, but I didn't fit them up yet. Also, did you guys look at yours under the light?? There are many little pinholes where I can see through on mine, so I'm going to have to have a welding friend of mine fix them up before I even think about installing them. And if they don't fit, I'm going to prolly order a set of those other ones for sale on this board. But this isn't making me feel too good about installing them....

one of mine has 3 itty bity holes. yeah, gonna arc weld those suckers. after I finish the interior I'm gonna see about finishing the exhaust. When they send me to 7-Level school, I should have some $$$$$$$ left over. gues a working exhaust is needed more than a nitrous kit

I tried to put them in a 89 2.8L firebird.
well now i got some really neat painted manifolds. They needed to be more compact not as wide
and the driver side needed to go down not back.
Since I have my Y pipe off Im going to have it
costom bent. Now I got a 86 2.8L blazer for sale with a set of cool special custom headers no added
fee.

i tried to get them on my 3.1
first i had the shop reweld them to seal up all the little holes
then after lifting the car we tried to install them (fun fun fun)
first we had to wack the dirverside fram a bit to gain the needed clerence then after that the ****ers would not line up right
i just gave up after about 1 hour of trying we never even got around to the pass-side i just paid the shop to build me a set and called it a day

when i talk to chc he told me that they should have lined up alraight b/c he had them bolted to the block as he welded them
i just never got around to sending them back to him

I'm seriously considering more and more after reading these replys buying a set of the headers that are now being offered on the sticky on this board. The craftsmanship looks a whole lot better...

For the record our headers drop right in from the top with no clearance issues. We are taking names for the G/P. Please email me if interested. We will make it right the first time.

Thanks for the compliment Dean. I seen your headers the other day all ready to be shipped...just waiting on the y-pipe. Man do they look nice all coated I would get a few pics and post them but theres no need to tease I'm sure they will speak for themselves.

Oh sure Mike, blow on it, get it hard, then walk away and leave me hanging.
I've waited about eight years for someone to make decent headers for this car/motor - I can wait a little while longer- but g@d damn am I anxious Its frikin amazing sometimes what makes you happy in life- heck I just dropped about $500 on rocks and boulders for my wife's english garden to get her off- for me these headers will do the trick, everyones got a modified V8 but not a modified V6

looks to me like you all got exactly what you paid for. Just by looking at some of the posted pics I would not have bought them personally. Hell I was that hard up for headers, I would have made them from schule 40 pluming fittings. no to mention the duralbility og the cast iron, just not loosing much weight. And you could make any type of header you wanted, IE even turbo manifolds.

Hey CHC, it took you long enough to chime in. Hows the Conquest project doing?

c'mon guys lets not get locked or banned

FWIW- No wonder CHC is in hiding and he took it so hard that other headers were becoming available. No further comment on that issue from me

So now that some of you gave CHC your money and things haven't worked out for you, maybe you're willing to give our "expensive" headers a chance?

I always thought your headers that were produced look 200% better then the C_H_C ones but since I had already bought the C_H_C ones I figured I'd see what I could do with those. Well now I am finding out the real truth about them, and I am scraping up what I can for a college student to try to get the funds to gether to be able to buy a set of headers and a Y-pipe from you guys. With quality work usually comes $$$, and I'd totally rather have quality and the professional look. And you guys definately have done that from day 1.

I still would not spend 400 + for your headers. I would make then from as sais before schd 40 piping for around 50 bucks and have true equal length, and not have to worry about the strength.
Thats what a lincoln pro 135 mig and argon is for!.

I am going to lock this post before it starts going down hill anymore and people end up getting banned over petty arguing.
