do they make a reprogrammer or computer chip for my car?

hello, i just bought my first camaro, it's a fourth gen 1997 30th anv, rs with the 3.8, it has a cold air intake, flowmaster exhaust, performance short throw shifter, and thats it, i want to reprogram it or chip it but all i can find is reprogrammers and chips for 1996 3.8, 1998 3.8-2002 3.8, they completly skip over the 1997 3.8, i was told by a freind that has a sister that is in this club that you guys could help me, i had called hypertech and inquire about what the difference is, they could not tell me, but i am also told that they do make something for it, but i can not find anything on the net, or in any stores or catalogs. please help me.

You're on the wrong board buddy! This is Third Gens..82-92. BUT reading down your post, I think you know this....it's just that most of us don't have a whole lot of experience with the fourth gen, so we're lacking in knowledge. There are some 4th gen F-Body sites out there you could put up posts on. The only one I can remember right now is f-body.org, which looks like it has third and fourth gens on the site, so I'm sure you can find something there.

BUT...you got a nice car. The 4th gen RS's are hard to find and the appearance package on them is truly BEAUTIFUL..not to mention you got yourself one mean little sixer.

Wish I could help you, but they SHOULD have something for it. Try looking at other companies, like Jet chips.. See if that Hypertech Power Programmer works for you too...that's gotta be far better than a chip..can't beat the cool factor.

Good luck!
