Fuel Filter?

Hello,

I have a 91 Camaro RS V6 and it keeps stalling on me. I have been reading that it might be a fuel filter. I figured I will give it a shot. I already bought the fuel filter but, I am not aware of where the Fuel Filter is though. Could someone just give me a little run through of how to install it, and where exactly it is located?

Brian

If you look where your rear driver's seat, under the car in that area, you'll see the fuel filter. You have to relieve the pressure before you remove it. Either run the engine then pull the fuel pump fuse (in your fuse box, labeled F/P) OR get a rag and put it over the schraeder valve on your fuel rail under the plenum. Push the tip in like a valve stem, and fuel pressure sprays onto the rag. Be careful, it goes VOOOOMP easily, so no lit cigarettes. Use 2 adjustable wrenches, one as a backup wrench on the filter and one on the fitting, soak with penetrating oil before you start, as lines may be frozen. Otherwise, its a straightforward job. OH yeah remove your gas cap to relieve some pressure too!
