Catco Conv.

I need a CC on my stock 89 2.8L firebird. I'm looking at www.summitracing.com , Will a Univ. 2.5inch Catco converter fit perfect part # CTO-2516 or CTO-2606 direct fit on my car w/o any probleam. Also Could I just bolt it up with out a problem?

Want a perfect fit?
I used my 1995 Camaro 3.4 CC I got with the engine that went in to my Blazer.
Previous owner installed a universal Crap convertor. When fell down, clunk crap spilled out!
Used muffler saw to cut off CC, unbolted connection, pounded on the 3.4 CC,
ALL 1995 CC 4th Gen F Body BOLTS LINED UP PERFECTLY ALL BOLTS including the strap support connection.
I was stunned, especially at the performance gain back & smoother idle.
Your idea, as I've done that on my Blazer back in 1992 & I used a Performance For Power CC.
They cut off rear connection, weld onto your "new" one, then weld on front of CC to "Y" pipe connection.
See if you can find the later one, used, at a very fair price. My 4th Gen F Body 3.4 CC, used at 50K miles, looks brand new, inside, too. Yes, I checked to make sure I wouldn't be wasting time of myself or my friend.
I DO NOT DOUBT ya can used a 3.8 powered F Body CC one, also! Probably the same (it's 2 1/2" in & out!)
Good hunting.
AC Delco designed stuff is primo quality.

Direct replacement does not exactly mean all attachments are on the item.
Ask summit if ya gotta cut proper fittings from one CC & weld onto the newer CC.
My Performance For Power is direct relacement/universal fit, too.
Had to cut off ends from old CC which means labor by another.
