V6 is great (have to read)

Hi Guys,

I am a GM car lover in Taiwan, there are only few people like me here, the Japan and Europe cars are kick US car here, Japan car are very good in quality and Europe are famous in performs. US car are not fit our weather(wet) so the electronic parts keep going down, people stop buying US car.....But I still love it.

What I like to say is, we can't drive big C.C. cars, it will take huge tax every year, 5700cc for US2570 per year, 2800c.c for US600 per year, that is why only one 5000c.c. firebird in Taiwan and already crash.......I got a 2800cc firebird V6, and would like to see more people talking about superchaged, turbo, Nos, or anything to upgraded the V6 performs not the swap (no 3400cc, 5000c.c. or 5700.c.c here)

Pls keep doing that, I think there are same tax problem in many country, that's why Japan or Europe 1600c.c./2000c.c cars are popular in many country, they buy to mod it without paying the high tax.

Pls keep helping me and give opinion??

Joe

Hey man...always glad to find another GM lover. I guess it truly is world-wide!

The reason you don't see a lot of supercharger and turbo talk is simply because....they don't make them! No companies produce these parts for these cars, and to have setups custom fabricated is way too much money for most of us.. As far as nitrous...there are several members on the board who have it...I believe they are very happy with their kits! I think your engine, if in good shape, could handle a 50 shot easily. Maybe even a 75 shot.

I know a Girl in Japan who has a 80's Mustang Convertible V-8.
I know about your taxes & the STORAGE GARAGE BILLS!
From what I'll tell,
Your options are over 10 years to late (they stopped making domestic SC units & never a turbo unit).
B & M & Paxton were the players in that field.
The market was dead. Still is, too.
Thus manufactures tossed away those options.
FLAT OUT, wasn't profitable.
Here or any other country.
NOW FOR YOU.
"You are stuck".
Turbo/supercharger parts for that ride are totally "custom (bracketry ONLY)". Rest is common off the shelf creating a mix of aftermarket stuff to cooperate on your 2.8 60* V-6 platform.
How successful will you be?
Really doubt it & here's why.
COST
THE CREATIVE TALENT TO MAKE IT WORK!
Conquer those two & you'll be good to go.
No one else here has done so either, so......
Yes a 3.4 is the BEST option for you!
Called a NEW 3.4 CRATE ENGINE.
Has your current engine been rebuilt yet?
Can you rebuild current 2.8 for as cheap as a new 3.4 crate engine upgrade?
Doubt it, also.
AND IT'S REALITY!
Seek out a price for the new 3.4 mill & have a very good time. It's a better option for ya, honest.
AND SO SIMPLE AS EVERYTHNG FITS & SWAPS OVER SO WELL!
PS Love the Women! Especially at the car shows!

You are referring to Fagoel.
He makes K & F Superchargers for S-10 & Jimmy's CARB'D VERSIONS.
One is set up for a TBI I believe but
at $2500 for the unit, & it's not a centrifical add on, ya loose that option.
Centrifical add on is the only option for our F Body MPFI
I once saw a K & F supercharger at a swap meet for $500.
I passed on it then, also.
He's been around since 1980's.
His unit is CA Street Legal, an attraction.
I can spend that much ($2500) on a complete engine build up for the 1970 LT-1/Z-28 motor I'm installing in my 1967 RS/SS 350 Camaro Convert 4-speed. I'm at under $1300 so far, including parts & labor.
What's the better investment?
