lookin for some quickness......

ok, ive got a 86 firebird, and ive done some things nothing too major, a cold air, a tune up, dynomax muffler, a throttle body coolent bypass, and pretty soon ill be putting a 2 1/2 inch cowl hood on to lighten things up a bit, now i know im probably going to rebuild my motor, or swap with a bigger engine, but for now... is there anything else i could do to quickin things up? im not lookin for some crazy off the line power here, just want to get rid of that lag thats in it... thanks for the ideas and comments....

If you're looking for power, why didn't you get the full catback instead of just a muffler? Not too much more for the catback! Replace your converter as well...will help the exhaust out even more. What did you do for tuneup? Plugs, wires, cap and rotor, coil? Check various sensors, replace or adjust what needs to be done. Replace oxygen sensor...it's cheap and will raise your mpg and add a tad bit of power. Clean IAC valve....smoother idle will result and it's again easy, and cheap (only takes a can of TB cleaner and a rag). Clean the throttle body while you're at it, if you haven't done it already. Clean the crap out of it. The whole surface in the opening, then rock the butterfly and clean the face, the edges, and the backside of it, as well as as far as you can get behind it. Trust me...you can feel even a LITTLE dirt in there. At least I could...
