Tensioner???
Ok i figured out how to do the timgin chain im going to do this friday thats when my work will get my gasket set in. What exactly is the tensioner i hear about i looked in the catalogs at work and on the computer and could not find it. Does any one have a part number at all or exact name becasue i cant find it at all at work. Even when i looked in the catalogs at work it just showed 3 pice timing chain set.

The tensioner is the piece that goes between the cam and crank sprockets. It keeps the chain from walking too much. Last summer the tensioner in my 3.1 cracked and shattered. That was a fun one to fix. It is not under any load, and there are 2 bolts that hold it in place. Remove the 2 bolts, and it comes right off. It is about a $20 dollar part to replace, and the new ones have rubber tips on them (mine did, that's a good thing) instead of steel to resist chipping or cracking if the chain would ever make contact.
