Timing chain install help ASAP

Timing chain install help ASAP

Im trying to install my new timign chain when i go to put the gears and chain on the top one wont line up it wants to go to the right and there is too much tension on it to get itt o go in the key hole so i can blot it up ive tried sliding themon as 1 pice any ideas???? Karl if you come an help me ill give ya a free water pump in a few weeks for a 3.1 should fit the 2.8 as well.

I bolted the crank one on. then slid chain over, and had to use the bolts to put the cam one on. However, I test fitted prior too, and made sure my two marks were alighned properly. I did have to bump the crank one way to make them work. Cam may need slightly moved in your case.

i got them on my girlfriend came up with an idea i knew she was good for something. But now i lost 1 waterpump bolt so im going to have to get a new bolt tommorw i have no clue where the bolt went to.

The timing chain defeated me i got a harmoinc balancer installer and the bolt that threads into the crank broke off so i said **** it and had my car towed to my frineds shop at 3 am.

Oh hell; how did the bolt break in the crank?? Is there something your friend can get a grip on? Or did it snap flush with the snout of the crank, like mine did? That sucks... keep us posted!!

There is enough to get a grip on it he just has to pull the balancer. I basicly said **** it at 2 am and had it towed to his shop a few miles away. Since its there i just gave him a list of stuff to do.
