2.8 to 2.8 conversion

hey,
I got an 83 camaro with a 2.8 carbed motor. But the oil pan is about to get a rod in it. So I got a 2.8 tbi good wrench crate motor with 60k miles out of an 86 s10. I was woundering if I should switch the carbed stuff on to the top crate motor, so I can just plug everything back in,. or not? what do have to do to that motor to put it in? what power will be put out with the carbed stuff, or the tbi stuff? with a five speed, a fresh clutch and cat-back exhaust what will mt 1/4 times be???
Anything will help!!!!

Carb and TBI are almost the same power output. Maybe a higher output cam in the crate motor... my MPFI 2.8 in good tune ran a 17.07 with the cat removed, on a 2.3 60'

I have NOT run since removing the smog equipment, and upping the timing, or the distributor rebuild.

I know on the s10 engines when swapping to injection, the valves in the heads got larger.

Do you have wiring knowledge? No state inspections. The I would go for it.

Otherwise, I would leave it carb.

BTW, you can bolt a 4.3l throttle body on that, with your 2.8l injectors, port the intake, and you have a larger air intake system
