I have a 1989 firebird its a 2.8 v6 recently it has started acting weird after i shut off the car the fuel pump keeps running it doesent do it all the time but it does it alot and its done for over an hour at a time before. The only way to stop it is to unplug the battery but when you plug the battery back in it keeps doing it any body ahve any suggestions on what to do??????

 

sounds like the fuel pump relay is bad (stuck on). I would check it first.
