gas gauge problems

Hey there guys havent been on for while anyway. I have always had te problem of my gas gauge not reading right even when I bought the damn car. Its an 88 camaro with the 2.8. The fist week I had it the fuel pump died so me nd my dad dropped the tank and installed another pump and sending unit. This still didnt help now when ever i fill up my car I hve to depend on my odometer for fuel. I fill up every 140 miles on the odometer. It reads one line before "E". can u guys help me out plz. Is there anything I can do. Thanx guys.

What I gathered from your post, the gauge still works now, but doesn't read right, correct? Mine does the same thing, and I think it may be a more common problem with the Fbodies. Mine will stay at "F" forever when it's filled up, then drop like a rock after a few days. I believe you can simply remove the needle and adjust it so it reads more accurately. I was going to do that, but I got used to how the tank reads, so I never bothered.

yeah it seems to be workin cause when i don't drive the car and it sits for a day it reads half tank and then drops to the line before the "E". so the next time I fill up im gonna adjust the needle see what happens.
