Automatic Wiring harness To a standard vehicle?

Ok, i found a good deal on a wiring harness for my 91 V6 5 spd. However the donor is from an automatic. Currently my vehicle is in bad shape electrically and I have a feeling my high idle is from this old wiring harness (it looks horrible, the old owner has electrical tape at just about every plug, it was eatan up by rats), now currently I don't even have a neutral safety. Now the big question is will the harness from an automatic work for my 5spd and what kind of fabrications must I make? Thanks.

wow, man i can emphisise with you. my last car has a few duct tape fixes that came with it. my clymate fan was wedged in with cardboard. the wires had been joined with wirenuts. still gives me cold chills.

i does not seem like it would matter, what wiring harness are you talking about? the ecu wiring harness?

Sorry for not being specific, I meant the engine wiring harness.

dude, no feedback, wish i could help you more. i don't even own a third gen till sunday. i assume they would work just fine. the engine wiring harness has little to nothing to do with the tranny on a car as old as these. you could always call your local dealar and ask a service writer

hope i helped

Appreciate the replies. I already ordered the harness. I think probably the only trouble I will run into is probably the transmission plugs, hopefully I won't run into any at all.
