Retarded cam 2 degrees

I accidentally retartded the cam 2 degrees as a result of some advice before I knew that the timing could be changed like that. What will happen if its like this? Is there some way to fix this with the distributor or do I need to tear everything back apart.

Unfortunately you'll have to tear it back down and degree the cam to proper settings.

Yeah, unfortunately, you can't fix valve timing by adjusting ignition timing...

i would have been looking at 1,000 in repair........
