I was Half way into it and it started raining!!!!

Im in the process of placing new valve cover gaskets on my 88 camaro. i have no real skills in this type of thing but was told that anyone could do it. Plus i dont want to pay $150 for someone else to do it when i can do it for $16. So i have the top part of the MPFI off, and trying to take off the fuel rail (having problems) then it starts pouring. i put a shirt over the intake, shut the hood and run for cover. so im screwed cause i have no way to finish something that im stumped on anyway.

just use a prybar/flathead screwdriver to pull out the fuel rail.

Yes the injectors pop out with the fuel rail. Its very simple. I had a 86 Fiero with a 2.8 MPFI V6, same motor as in your camaro so I know first hand.

while the injectors are out, replace the o-rings. Inexpensive insurance to prevent a future problem. Also, lube up the outside of the o-rings before putting injectors back in manifold, will ease instalation & prevent tearing them.

IF correct one or two bolts hold down.
Yes, it does pry off "with effort".
Yes new o rings are cheap insurance
About $3-5
Definetly fine minimal lube "O" rings with motor oil before inserting.

By the time you are through with this project you will respect why they would charge ya the $150 especially since you admit:

so im screwed cause i have no way to finish something that im stumped on anyway.

$16 for good quality gaskets is cheap.
YEP this job rates high on PITA scale!

I didn't think it was a PITA. Once you do it a few times there is nothing to it. Belive me its harder on a fiero, lol.

WHY so many times?
I like doing things on cars once.
I let someone else bleed my brakes & change rear brake hose.
Just cause I'm sore sprained shoulder.
I have to drive 25 miles back again to have the brakes bled correct again.
Do it once & do it right, is the lazy way for me!
EVEN WHEN I PASS CAR TO OTHERS they should do that, too!

Previous owner of the Fiero had stripped a spark plug head off. Try getting to the plug with the fuel injection on in a Fiero.

Tried multiple things to get the plug out, and inbetween attempts I put everything back on as to keep debris and insects out of my engine.
