A/C compressor problem (Pls help)

A/C compressor problem (Pls help)
Hi, Guys
My A/C compressor no working when I drive faster , like 80km/hr, but when I slow down, it start to work again!!!! my air condition system work "fine" when I just drive my firebird in downtown, but it really trouble me when I go to freeway......
Some one have brought a Computer to check my car (GM), he said my A/C compressor is wried, there is a text should to go on 40, but my stop on 20, so my A/C will not cold enough, is there any body can tell what is going on?? Should I change the compressor ?? or just fix it???
