About the Dynomax cat-back

I hate to bring this subject BACK up, I know everyone is already sick of it, I am at least. But I just ordered a Dynomax from Summit (I only live a couple of miles from their store!), and now I figure I might as well get a higher-flowing cat as well, but will any particular higher-flowing cat fit, one end with the 2.5 Dynomax, the other end with the more restrictive 2 1/4?

I know this is a dumb question, but bare with me here, I'm trying to have some fun with the car before it gets sold. Will I have to have any custom work done or anything? A higher-flowing cat (haven't decided which one to get yet) will fit with the Dynomax on one side, and the stock pipes on the other end?

Just cut it further back, and use a 2.25 to 2.5" reducer

Anyone know the part number for the dynomax super turbo cat back that goes best with our v6?

I was looking through summit and saw quite a selection. I just wanted to make sure I got the right thing. Thanks.

Uh, the y-pipe is 2.5 inches. I posted the catco number a long time ago. You want "cat with 2.5 slip fit inlet and 2.5 inch ball flange outlet". Same cat as the v8's got. There's nothing 2 1/4 inches about the factory cat.

Oh, I was under the impression that from the Y-pipe back, it was 2 1/4? Or is that from muffler back?

Yeah, all the pipes for a v6 after the catalytic convertor were 2.25 inch! Glad you found the cat!
