replacing trans with working one, need advice

hey all my b/f is putting a new trans in for me this weekend, he's never done an automatic we just need a guide of how to replace a bad v6 trans with a good one. he knows how to do it with advice from his mom's b/f and from friends but if you can help it would be great cuz we want to make sure we dont mess up this so it will work asap!! thanks guys!

Best advice I can give you is to put a "new" torque convertor in. If the old trans went bad, the convertor is contaminated with debris that can ruin the new trans as well.

Make sore your TV detent cable is hooked up and adjusted properly before driving it.- you need adequate TV pressure for the fluid to pump properly. (basically the tv cable should be about maxxed pull at full throttle- then when released, it is proper pressure at idle and low shift.)
