pray for my car

well, did something stupid tonight....i went to go pick my girlfriend up from work, she works in a tuxedo place, but tonight she was put at a store in a bad part of town. I didn't think anything of it, since i've been down that way many times before, so i go down into the city and can't find a parking spot. So idrive down a back alley and park my car in a lot which i believe is owned by the tuxedo shop. But i thought wrong, the lot i parked in was owned by a funeral home who's owner is **** about having cars towed. So, my car was towed from this bad part of town to a worse part of town tonight, the guy said because they towed it on a flatbed the tow price is 250 bux....then ontop of that is 40 bux for tonight (where it's been for a full eh, 5 hours) and tomorrow where it'll be for say 6 more or so. My fear is that i'll come back to the place that towed it and i'll have broken windows, a missing radio system, and slashed up leather seats. If this happens is there any legal step i could take against the people who towed it for not having a secure site? Since it's all out of my hands right now, i'm just saying a prayer on it, and hoping everything turns out ok, if not then i guess i'll just have to start fixing from ground zero, or picking upanother car. give a prayer for my vehicle, don't wanna have a bad tomorrow that's as bad as today.

how long was it parked at the funeral home? if there was a posted "any un-ocupied un-othorised veicle will be towed after ___hours and it was less then that you can sue the funeral guy, if your car is thrashed at the tow shop i would sue the hell out of them, if that **** happened to my car, heads would roll, and i don't even have a stereo

well, the results after the tow turned out ok. .... i was very pleased to see that the yard where the put my car was equipped with security , and the best kind at that...a big freakin' rockwhieler (sp) guard dog was the best site i had seen. But now, my wallets 330 bux lighter, which isn't much fun, and while backing out of this place i hit some dirt and mud which was nice enough to mess up my front clip a lil' bit (no biggie it's getting redone anyway) so i guess it's safe to say that all is well....The car's in one piece and everything's inside it.....

I would spend a few moments at police and mention this to them.
Meaning that it may have been an illegal tow.
Any signs saying it'll be towed?
Was it after hours of business?
IF it's illegal tow, take them to small claims court for the money spent.
I've stolen my car from an impound place once.
Back in PA. in late 70's. Was fun and it involved a girl to distract them while I drove away!

thats a pretty good story ked. Actually it was technically a "legal" tow, there is one sign on the building (one) and it's in the lot where i was parked. But, there are about a million signs talking about survalience, so after u read the 25-30 survalience signs the one about parking doesn't stand out quite as much, especially since it's smaller then all the others. Either way, it was a crappy situation, and i'll be sure to not make the same mistake again.

I had a similar situation about five months ago where I learned a real valuable lesson...

DON'T EVER PARK IN A HANDICAP SPOT, EVEN IF IT'S FOR A JUST A FEW SECONDS!!

Everywhere I went, where I would only be in the store for less than two minutes, I would park in a Handicap space. I did this for a few months until one night when I went to pick up my girlfriend from her work a the local Big Boy. I parked in a handicap for about 45 seconds to run in and tell her I was there. When I came out, there was a cop already standing there writting me a ticket... and to make things worse, it was 11:33..... 33 minutes after the restaurant was clossed... no customers inside.

So be careful next time, I sure learned a valuable lesson.... and I also realized what I was doing parking in those spaces was selfish, rude, careless and I was being an a$$hole!!
