anybody played with the 3.4L twincam FWD heads and intake yet ? been looking at them thinking i might get and s10 and toss a set on a 3.1 or 2.8 rwd block. the electronics look rather easy to tame its the room for the distributor that get me a bit anxious. the only other thing i can think of is carrying over the dis but i would have to remount the Moduel for sure to a better place if i used the whole eninge and make custom mounts.

so has any body toyed with these yet ?

All I gotta say is have fun, to use those heads on a non DOHC block will require extensive use of a machine shop for certain internal parts to be custom made, to block off the lifter bores for proper oil flow, is the largest obsical I see to get around.

There is no way at least no easy way to use a distributer on the DOHC, the head actuall partially covers the oil pump drive hole, this was the breaking point for me, I had plans of using the DOHC heads on my 3100 block, just to be a little different and maybe gain some flow potential, plus I figured with custom made timing gears I might be able to tune the overlap, for final tuning.

People will tell you it's "impossible" which for most people is, since they will either be spending an excessive amount of time in a machine shop, or will paying a lot more than I would think it's worth.

You could however machine the block for the starter location and a couple of other small details, then bolt that into the vehicle.

I actually saw pistures once of a third gen Camaro that had this done, complete DOHC swap, but I don't know if it's running yet or not.
