hello everyone I am new here and was refered to this forum in hopes to find a solution to my problem. I have a 89 firebird with a 2.8v6 and a 5speed trany. the problem is i broke my mount and was searching for another to replace it and found out that the mount that my car requires is a bit on the exspencive side.. and is a dealers part only.. cost of $316. can you beleave that cr*p!! anyway i have herd of a cross member swap that is possible but need all the spacifics of the swap. I have researched the past messages and found some information but none that is compleet. for all of you that seem to have a hard time excepting the fact that there are a few of us with this problem i am posting a pic of the mount itself that i found on the net so you will know what kind and shape of mount I am talking about that i have on my car. If any of you have one of these laying around in good condition please let me know. I would rather change the whole thing out on a easy bolt on swap if its possible. At least that way if i ever break on again, I wont have to spend so much time looking for one or spending that kind of money. Anyway either way I go to fix this would be fine for now. My bird has been sitting for about a month now looking sad at me that i dont drive her anymore. But I dont want any dammage do to this mount being broke. When I first noticed it it was like some one took a baseball bat to the botom of my car each time i shifted so opted to park her till i got her fixed. Any and all replies are welcome. thanks.. Hey wow ur problem really relates to mine. I have a new trans mount from energy suspension but it wont fit. I have the same mount uve got in the picture and the same crossmember. I looked at a bunch of camaros and none of them had this design. And for me to put on the new mount i need a completely new crossmember.
