still battling problems

i was told that my fuel pump is too loud when it primes, it is sucking air, and that my problems~> starting, starting and dying, no start, surging shifts, are from the pump that is going. is this true? i still think i have a problem some where in my ignition, just wanted to see what you guys thought

if the fuel pump is sucking air, then do you have any gas in the tank?????????? have a f/p gauge available?

3/4 of a tank in there man,no fuel pressure gage, but have had it tested, and told it was fine, the guy that told me about all this stuff is a friend, and is a really good mechanic, and when he heard that pump, he said, naw thats not right, should't be that loud, then proceded to explain the process to me, so.... i don't know, i just want my car to run!!!!

Thats normal because of where the fuel tank is. Most cars you only hear the buzz from outside but the thirdgens have the gas tank right under the hatch area. So you hear it inside the car more than out.
