Hey guys I just took the bird out for a spin to go order a MAF relay from napa and she had hesitation starting from a stop until she got warmed up then she had absolutely none and was running really nice. What would make her do this? The maf sensor was unplugged

When the MAF is unplugged, the computer uses a preset to substitute for the the lack of MAF input. THis is why a car will still run w/it unplugged, but not as good as it could.

when i unplug my MAF, after the car reaches its running temp AND passes 5 mins, it shuts off

The haynes manual says that the ECM will not start reading the MAF sensor until the engine has reached operating temp AND passes 5 mins of running time, which explains why my engine cuts out when it heats up. The MAF reads how much air is going into the engine, and then the computer tells the injectors for how long to pulse, thus if the MAF is unplugged, the computer thinks no air is going to the engine, thus not firing the injectors, thus the engine stalls.

well i had a bad MAf a little while ago, the cars idle was crappy, acceleration not to good, etc etc etc. Once when the car was warm i had unplugged the MAF meter, and drove the car for a while, and the car ran ok w the sensor unplugged, so i don't know why yours turns off lee, i've never had that problem.
