tap on idle

hi again, my 79 thou 91 rs 3.1 has a tap on idle, increace the revs and it dissappears, factory manual says lifter bleeding down. due to cost of parts over here was just going to sling in a new set of lifters? any comments on this???
question 2 on valve lash, haynes manual says 3/4 turns after no turn on pushrods. chevvy manual says 1 1/2 turns, which is correct???

the Crane Powermax cams come with lifters for 169$

not only would this fix your lifter problems, would also put a little pep in your cars step.

Make sure it's not an exhaust leak coming from the exhaust manifold (due to a snapped bolt)

ah yes, that could be it.

Alot of the trucks at my work are like that.

replaced all bolts early in the year, gaskets are new and still sound. any good people to get a cam and lifter set from??

I replaced all my bolts last month, but low and behole, within the month my leak was back. The bottom bolt on the rear of the passenger side had worked it's way loose since I couldn't get it 100% tight from above the motor. They might have done the same thing to you, so you might want to at least check. BTW, I replaced all mine with Stainles Steel ones that you can get from Home Depot. I figured that they would be a little more resistant to Exhaust corrosion than the regular bolts, meaning that they are less likely to snap off.
