how long will this last
running my 700r4, just between work and school, etc... but i lost 3rd and 4th gear, as you may have read in my other post, so how long can the tranny hold up like this?

You can try some snake oil products. Once it goes bad, it really can't hurt and I have seen them help a tranny going bad get by for a few more weeks.

86camarodriver (remember him?) had his do thesame thing. He got a junkyard trany for $100 &it died the same way. Just start saving up & have it rebuilt to 92 specs

I have no Idea if its used on 4th gens. But from what ive heard its been improved upon over the years 82-92, with 91-92 being the best years.

The 700-R4 was used all through the 4th gens...BUT they added a computer to it and changed the name to the 4L60E if I remember right.....
Seriously, you wanna talk about some thick stuff to try... Lucas Slip Fix. Stuff is like honey... It might add enough grab to your fluid to help the clutches live a little while longer. It's keeping my tranny from slipping right now. And if you bump the pressure at the TV cable just a little, you might be able to give the clutches a harder, more positive grip. Just dont over-increase it or you'll blow seals.
