Suspensions Next to Shot... Need help!
OK... I have noticed a squeak from my front end. Sounds like a squeaky bed. And also I feel every little tiny bump. The car leans to one side now (just a little bit not too much). I want to redo shocks, struts, and springs. I am gonna replace the bushings over to poly bushings. But I know nothing about suspensions. I can change them but don't know much about what ones to buy. I want something better than stock. But not cost me and arm and a leg. I know I am definitely putting V-8 stuff on since I plan on putting a V-8 in during next spring... I plan on doing front end of car 1st. Since that's worse off. My rear isn't it that bad of shape.

I was able to pull those just by clicking and looking for messages by "TomP" in the Suspension/Chassis/Brakes forum. Do other searches in the suspension/chassis/brakes forum, and leave off the TomP, but put in info you want (ex: "struts")- there's a ton of guys in there that helped me out!
No, no web page yet, but this does remind me that I need to get one together... I wonder if half of you think I've just been BS'ing all these years

Oh- by the way, the PST kit contains energy suspension bushings! Also, if you get a full rebuild kit from PST, with tie rod ends and center links and etc- know that PST's linkage parts are foreign-made. They don't sell Moog, which is "the best" replacement for steering linkage. PSC at http://www.performancesuspension.com and Steve Spohn (one of the thirdgen.org sponsors up above "Put your power where the ground is" link) at http://www.spohn.net/ sell Moog kits.
It all depends on how much you want to rebuild, but keep this in mind...
1. Replace struts, okay- but shouldn't you replace the upper strut mounts too?
2. Thinking about springs? Okay, but you've gotta take everything off, so shouldn't you replace the control arm bushings and ball joints ($20/ea) too?
3. The center link and idler arm are "wear parts" on our cars. That means they wear out just by you driving the car! So if you haven't changed them yet, change them. And, since you've gotta take those off, wouldn't you want to also change the tie rod ends and sleeves, too?
Everything spirals! I'm so glad I didn't decide to do springs now and bushings later. That's double the work! That's why I saved up to do it all at once.
I'd say the absolute minimum for you (and anyone) would be: struts, center link, idler arm. But while you're under there...
