bad gas? or bad sensor?

sunday i put 10$ worth of shell gas in my car at the time ever pump was being used (12) the place was packed. now monday after driving 40 min to shcool my car starts to skip so then i went to drive another hr and it keped getting worse like i would not idle or have any power. and skpid bad. so tonight i put a new fuel filter in and ajusted my timing and added octane booster. now at high rpm 4-6 the car dosent pull and acts like its hitting the rew limiter but only at 45 rpm so i know its not hitting the limiter. could it be knock sensor telling the motor not to rev up to high becouse of pre deitination? witch was caused by bad gas? but now after ajusting the distrubter(timining) the car sudders bad at high rpm.

please help. thanks chirs

YOu know I went through my bad trip down fix it lane after a fill up at 7-11. i talk about it allot as it has happened in both a 2nd and 3rd gen. no reason or even close to time for a change but everytime I get that funny odd running gremlin, some plugs n wires fixes it up.

Pluga foul easy and can still look ok. I only goto Sunoco stations.

What did you adjust the timing to? Did you advance it or retard it?

If it started doing this right after the gas then it very well could be some bad gas. I'd get as much of that out of the tank as you can and fill it up with some good stuff. Maybe run it down to about 1/4 or 1/8, fill it up maybe a 1/4 more with good gas, and then run it down as low as you can get...top her off with good stuff and see what happens then.

Maybe the gas has some water in it. I think they make stuff to help remove water from the gas tank....forget what it's called but you might try that if you're feeling adventurous.
