sustained speeds?
sustained speeds?
Hey guys, just wondering, my bird does 110 (never taken it above that since T-tops were off at the time and car was getting unstable with wind
), sure everyone else's does that too, but how long can these engines sustain that speed? can it go on without a problem, or do you think that it would have to slow down after a while? mines an auto by the way.

I cruised at just over 100mph coming back to Jackson from Hattiesburg one night, that's about 40 miles. It just ran about 20-30 degrees hotter than usual, but I've got the 160 degree thermostat so I thought it was ok.
As long as your not keeping it in redline it doesn't matter right?

Depends on your tires. I ran my top speed of 121mph for about 15minutes before the right front tire blew the tread completely off it
I routinely cruise 100+mph for 15-20 min on 315 and 316 here in the forest...

well ..... Figuring it takes a good 30 mins to build up to 100+ mph with these engines.... I'd guess your fine for at least 1 hour if you take just as long to wind back down
Yes I'm being a smartass.
