V6 and torque...
Have any of you SIX-pack folks ever dynoed with diff. rear gears? If so, what kind of torque are you getting (ex. 4.10, 3.73?)??? I was thinking of a gear swap, but I ain't gonna bother if it ain't worthit on a V6.

Its not going to affect RWHP numbers, though it will definitely make a big difference in the car. If you have an auto, I'd stay with 3.42, maybe 3.73 on a modded car (Redraif's cam/head 3.4 has 3.73s now). A 5 speed car might be able to take greater advantage of a 3.73, but I think a 4.10 would be too much.

i am running 4.10s with an auto tranny. its fun to drive but i'm probably gonna try some 3.42s and maybe (hopefully) 3.73s just to see what it does. it accelerates rather quickly now but i think it may be hurting the top end a little bit.

Ah
Well, I live in the "city" (more like suburban) I seldom go above 70 MPH. I just was wondering also, how much it would help my 0-60 time? Would it help at all??? If and when I do race, I go from light to light, about 1/8 miles usually...I don't mind cruising at higher rpms, my overdrive would probably work better with diff gears. Right now, it engages at 45-55 mph usually a bit on the high side of third gear. These cars probably run a LOT better with a 5 speed....MY EYE FOR A T-5!!!!LOL:hail:

if you put a posi unit in too....the 4.10s (or anything numerically higher than 3.23) will help your 0-60. mine seemed to spin the tires about the same with the 4.10s and posi and it would spin the RR with 3.23s and no posi. my rear tires are about 25.5" tall and 70 mph is about 3,000 rpm in OD. speedometer shows about 90 since i never changed the speedo gears.
