on some models their is a fuel pump relay I belive in the drivers kickpanel area. If not their, its under the hood.
Do fuel pumps have their on fuse on our cars?

fuel pump relay should be on drivers side under hood, by cbrake booster. It wil be the forward most of the cluster of 3.

your haynes/chiltons manual will tell you how to check the fuel pump by putting direct hot to a cirtain prong on your ALDL(assembly line diagnostic link) the aldl is also the thing you can jam a paperclip in to get ECM codes. if you doo this it will run and not stop. you may want to attach a fuel pressure tester to your test plug while doing this, it will let you know what the fuel pressure is, it will also allow you to drain your fuel tank. for more info on this see my thred entitled :Car dies if i give it gas! hope this helps

THis is the cluster of relays by the power brake booster. The very first one, the closest, is the fuel pump relay.

Can you hear the pump prime??? You should hear it go kind of like
knock-knock-knock, then it will go into more of a hum knock when it picks up fuel.
You should be able to hear the difference. The of course it will prime for a min till pressure is reached then shut off.

For future reference, yes, there is a Fuel Pump fuse. It's up by the battery hanging off the fender. On my V6, there's 2 by the battery, on the 8 only 1.. you're lookin for red wire+orange wire. It supplies main power to both the ECU and Fuel Pump, so without it, that car isn't going to so much as burp.
Easy diagnostic: Sit in car. Turn car to 'on'. Does SES light come on? If yes, ignore fuse. If no, replace fuse. (ANY time you SES light fails to come on and the car won't start, 9/10 times, that fuse is your problem.. unfortunately it only tends to blow when your pump has kicked the bucket and is drawing more than 20 amps due to internal short)

no fuel....sounds like me but my carbed 84 2.8 has a mech pump...that's new, new filter in carb....full tamk of fresh 92 and still nothing and it's been like a month and a half. With me and 3 other mechanics trying to figure it out. maybe the cars just mad at me. hell the key still won't start it.
