jet powertech pulleys
well I just got the atlernator and crank pulleys for my 3.1, but I have a problem here. First, it saids that I should look for a dayco #5060618 belt, and I seem to have a hard time finding one. Anybody got some suggestions? Secondly, what can I expect from these things? I know their site saids 10-30 hp, but anyone try a set out yet. What can I expect?
Other things I am doing right now too, is changing the fuel lines. This car came out of New York and the fuel lines are shot, and started leaking, anyone switched these out, what can I expect? I also have another problem with the intake, their is threaded pipe that runs in the front, don't know the name but I switched it out on my 92 also, I have to retap the threads. Anybody know why gm didn't do away with this design flaw, I have friends that have the same problem on their 3.4. Thanks for your time guys, I hope to be done with the car in a month. Will post some pics when it's done.

I have the crank only pully (asp, same thing) on my 3.1. Never drove it w/o them one. Car was broke then I got it. I did install one on my old dodge, and on my s10. both noticable. If you have a very large stereo system, I dont recommend the alt pully. Belt, try a 6 rib, about 61.75 or 62.00 inches long. Belt they are quoting is 61.80 (61.75) inches long.
Fuel lines, which ones, under hood, or by tank?
Pipe up front, threaded in, is your TB "heater", and also goes to your heater core. Can easly swap it out with some home plubing, cut the end of the pipe with a pipe cutter, and get small section of rubber hose, and hose clamp it. Never heard of anyone having to re-tap the holes.

I bought the JET pulleys for the crank and alternator on my 2.8. If anything I noticed very little change or power increase. Now when it says to look for the belt I thought that it was pretty funny. I bought the equivalent from Gates and found out I was running the wrong size which was too big for a while. What I eventually did was ask the guys at Advance Autoparts if I could just try different belts on the car. I found that on my 2.8 Dayco #5060905 fit just right although I do not know if that applies to your 3.1. I'd just try belts and see what the indicator on the belt tensioner says.

the whole fuel lines running from the engine to the tank. They are rust city, this has been a project already, I replaced the timing chain and front seal the other day along with the plugs, airfilter, and wires, and now this stuff. If it's any consolation though, my 92 is still out there with the original timing chain, and the original tranny, don't ask me how, but it's still running, of course I don't own it anymore unfortunately.
Btw I am finding that naval jelly and por 15 are life savers, just don't get it on your skin
dayco #5060905, I believe that is the stock belt, so I can give it a try, advance should give me a discount, I dropped 400 dollars the other day on trivial stuff for this thing. BTW I can't wait to get it finished. 42,800 original miles. Looking to paint it hugger orange and black heritage stripes for the body, but I have seen a nice yellow I would consider off this site. I want something unique besides red again.

Ditto
I always wondered if there were gains to be had with the pulleys too. I can't see them giving even 10 hp though...that just doesn't sound close.

I thought of only running the crank pulley but it's not too bad on my alternator. What I was going to do was buy a larger output altrernator so even though it was spinning slower it would output at high enough volts. I tell you it was fun putting on the crank pulley it involved a hammer and 1/4" ratchet since I did not have air tools. The alternator pulley was even more fun again without air tools so I took it to a parts store who swapped the pulley for me at no charge.
