I guess my distributer was going out. Pulled it out and found that i couldn't even feel the magnetic fins when turning it. pickup coil looked crappy, etc etc. put in a new coil, pickup coil, and ICM. Also left the msd6a disconnected for now.
Runs fine but idles at 900. on startup when cold it runs up to about 1700-1800 (normally was about 1500) then starts slowing down. After it's warm and i've been driving if I shift to nuetral it idles at about 1100 for a sec before slowing to 900.
Is this normal or should I try adjusting the IAC. I had it unplugged when the top of the plenum was off.
It just has that feel like when I'm coming to a stop the engine is still trying to push the car a little. Or i'm just not used to it.

it works, who cares.
I hate picky people.
Sorry no offense, i just have this freind who is picky because his car shakes (a little) when it idles. I think he would commit suicide if he had a V8.

hmm, i was thinking of adjusting the tps or iac, i'll have to try checking the intake for leaks too i guess.
I'm not too picky, the engine idled slow (jumped around between 5-600) and sometimes stalled if I didn't shift to neutral at lights.
There's also a bad exhaust manifold gasket leak on the right side.
I've been living with it, just when something changes drastically I start to worry.

Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.

My car did this when i first got it all back together after the head gasket replacment. I had to adjust the iac min idle and my tv cable had a kink in it. (dont think the tv cable was the problem but kinks suck anyway).
