jumping Starter Solenoid Switch

Do I jump the top (big) terminal and the very bottom terminal to manually activate the starter?

From: out of my mind; be back in 5 minutes....
Car: 1989 Firebird Formula
Engine: Internal Combustion
Transmission: Completed
Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
Doing that would just make the motor spin...the bendix won't pop out to engage the flywheel.
Now, if you crossed the large top terminal with the terminal marked 'S', the starter would spin and kick out to engage the flywheel.

That's correct.
I also made my own remote starter switch with parts from electronic store.
Make sure you switch can handle the juice used to start car.
Hot switches are hard to hold!
Screwdrivers are good second alternatives, too!
