Strange Wire?

I recently got my car back from the shop, so today i decided i would spend a little tim working on some stuff. I looked under the car while it was in the sir and in front of the tranny on the drivers side there was a black wire with a round hook on it (belive it is a ground) The wire comes out of the harness itself. I cannot see where this would even plug in, any ideas? Thanks

Don't quote me, but that's about where the oil pressure switch is, so maybe that is unplugged.

Yeah but my switch works inside the car which is wierd if that was unplugged. Would it still work like that? Thanks

Does it go to a ring terminal? I think there might be a ground going to the rear of the driver's side head; there should be a bolt (or by now, an empty hole!) in the back of the driver's side head for a ground.

It should go (as I said) to a bolt that would be in the rear of the driver's side head. But if they didn't put the bolt back, there will just be an empty bolt hole.

Not sure what it grounds to, sorry... I used to know, but it's been a lonnnng time since I was back there! The ground on the back of the passenger side head (also black wires going to a ring terminal) is for the computer and it's sensors- there's a junction point midway up the wireloom that's strung along the passenger side's strut tower. A bunch of grounds tie into that junction, then one wire goes up to the rear of the passenger side head.

As to what's connected to the driver's side head, I can't remember... sorry!
