Air intake duct question
Is the air intake duct on our Camaro's strictly a dealer part ,or can it be purchased at a local auto parts store like Pep Boys or Auto Zone? Mine has a chunk of it missing where it meets the throttle body and it's sucking unmetered air into the motor.
I can't seem to find a junkyard in my area that has any Camaros , they seem to be scarce around here. I found a junk Firebird but the MAF/air duct set-up is different.
Any help would be appreciated.

I haven't looked into it, but I would bet if you looked around parts stores, or menards/home depot/ hobo, whatever, you could probably find something that would work.
On that piece, is there any reason for it to be ribbed? Seems like it would be better off smooth to me.
I'd bet that you could get the part for an insane amount of money from the dealer too.

if you dont want to ghetto rig something up from home depot, you could always try to search for a used one in ebay or classifieds at thirdgen sites such as this.

I thought about rigging up something from Home Depot. Unfortunately, they don't have anything that comes close to the diameter of the original duct hose.
A friend of mine in Oklahoma, found one for me today. He said that there are junkyards full of old Camaros where he lives. Where I live they're as scarce as gold.
He'll be shipping it out to me tomorrow. $15.00 + shipping.
E-Bay is a PITA. Unless one has time to sit and watch their bid to the last minute, it's not worth the hassle.
