could be. While your taking out a loan to fix the EGR, get the extra 20 and replace your o2 sensor. That should help mpg also.

sorry, not playing. Digital egrs are around 150-200 bux. Plus in your case, labor too.

If you have any mechanical knowledge, the egr is easy swap/fix. Almost as easy as an air-filter.

Best one will be the delco one at your dealership. My car has went thru 3 in the past 1.75 years I have owned it. Since I dont have emissions it seems to have not found its way back on to my new engine.

These were all ones bought from autozone and any other local parts store. Will the one at dealership be most expensive? Yes, but IMO it will last you longer then ones at local parts stores.

can order from gmpartsdirect, but shipping is tad high, and will take few days to arrive.

wait you said emissions, i just passed my emissions and i went to take the test a week ago. could this be a good thing, maybe it doesnt need to be replaced? when i say dealer i mean some local dealer not an actual pontiac if thats what you mean, im in new york city, theres a lot of small lot dealers who tend to rip you off half the time

i just checked on ebay and i found a delco egr for my firebird, for 40 bucks...you sure it really costs that much, did u mean 150 -200 with labor?

** sorry it was for used ones, you think there worth it? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2468971980

Call your local dealership and ask them for the part # for your particular egr. Then go to www.gmpartsdirect.com and look up the part # and see if you can get it a little cheaper than your dealership.

You can always save money over the dealership using gmpartsdirect. However, gmpartsdirect will rip you off on shipping. They charged me $10 to ship a oil dipstick tube that weighs less than 1/4 of a lb. But I but it will be cheaper than your dealership.
