Mass Air Flow Sensor!!!

ok, so i was all happy i finally got the car running, got the timeing figured out (still needs a new chain and gears) the back fire worked out of it, tuned it, reset the TPS to .54v but it stalls out!?!?! at idle after its warmed up and when its put into gear itll just die and the idle is rough as all get out... did a search on this and heeded TomPs word that a bad MAF would do this, so i unplugged the brand new MAF and low and behold its all groovie again.... WHAT THE HE#$ i am now utterly confused. i would be very greatfull for anyones thoughts on this...

Does it stall out when cold? Perhaps the O2 sensor is gone and messing things up. I dunno...just grasping at straws.

no, no Tech not yet, but then again if i have my way she wont have time for that..

it doesnt stall out when cold, as a matter of fact she idles and runs like a champ when cold, its when she heats up every thing goes straight to he#$, ive checked the MAF relay, fuse, and connector every things in good shape, and the maf itself is brand new.. unhook the maf and she runs beeter than she did when i bought her..

i cant think of anything elese ive done to her but i would still like everyones thoughts on this... thank you

have the ignition control module checked. If you take it to Autozone, havae them cycle the test at least 5 times. This way it heats up & simulates continual running. I did that when i worked there, & found a bunch that passed teh first test, but failed after teh 3rd or 4th when they heated up.

Have you checked the wire harness to the MAF to see if it is all good, no broken wires, loose connectors or anything. Maybe the wiring between the MAF and the two relays. And like 89BlueIROCZ28 has said, just because it is a new MAF doesn't mean it is a good MAF.

if its a bad maf that would make 2 that ive gone through so far that were bad out of the box.. one would think that just a little bit more craftmenship and pride would go into those things but oh well.... and yes ive checked all the wireing for the MAF harness as far as i possably could and didnt find anything amiss.. i do still need to get the ignition module checked, it just died on me acouple of times w/o the MAF hooked up, so mabie thats the problem.....
