For anyone who cares

Here's my times from Friday night, I need to change my mod list listed below, the transgo is out but a 2100 stall is in.

I'm not as consistent as before seeing as how I'm still getting used to the stall so I was playing with it. Wasn't really concentrating on the light (was using instant green Ughh) but more on toying around with the launch. My MPH's were a little lower than normal too. Could be b/c I had my 2 12's in the back and 3/4 tank of gas (which with GM gauges equals about 1/2).

Here's a side by side of all the times, including the previous owner, and a few from when I first got the car.

There are about 4 missing though that I can't find .

A) The V6 board is my home on this site.
B) It gives room for discussion and comparison. Some V6 guys are pulling way better 60's than me, and up until the stall was put in those times were completely WITHOUT traction problems.
C) I just figured I'd share. I can post my V6 times too if you'd like.....

not bad times, It's evident to see that you were getting used to the new parts by the end of your runs.

What make is the Converter, and is the stall consistent?

Still not used to it yet, you can kinda see where I did some mods between track outings.

THe stall is a Daayco 2100, stock stall for a Vette. It's an upgrade though from the 1600 that came stock in mine. Next on the agenda is get rid of the peanut cam and put this LT1 cam sitting next to me collecting dust in.

No problem

It's cool, I only really post here and the vert forum, if any of you DO ever have a problem with one of my posts being here, then feel free to PM me and I'll delete it. Most people haven't seemed to mind though and I trust a lot of people in here if I have problems (After all, where else can you find TomP? j/k)

Just curious.. What was the deal with the tranny, did you ever find out what was wrong or did you get another one?

Forward sprag just exploded.

I put a used one in and wasted a total of ~600 before I got the original one rebuilt. The estimate was 1200 and i needed my motor mounts done, so another 150. They rebuilt the old one, put my 2100 stall in, reused the transgo, and pulled it off the rack. No forward still. The actual transmission rebuild guy wasn't there (he had just had a baby) so the other guy went through the tranny and couldnt' figure out what was wrong, so they put a spare 700R4 they had already rebuilt in, with the stall, and said they put a 1-2 shift spring in there. 1-2 feels normal, 2-3, 3-4 are more firm though. They did verify that my old servo was a Vette Servo, and they put a new Vette Servo in this one for me. B/C of the hassle, they did give me a price break though and it came to $1089 after tax, but negative one transgo . I'll buy another one on down the road, just can't afford anything right now. After the tranny incident I had another accident that ended up running around $300 after it was said and done

BTW, this is what you get to do to your engine after a bolt breaks into the intake while changing your thermostat and then you break 3 EZouts off into it.

Hah, I feel the same way sometimes... but I try not to tell that to many people!

Have you thought about getting an MSD 6AL box with a 2-step rev limiter? You could use one rpm chip to stage with (just keep the gas floored), and when the light drops, click over to the "redline" rpm chip. That way you'd probably be able to pinpoint your best launch rpm!

Also, you said you're getting traction problems? What about putting an air bag in the right rear spring? It'd help you get rid of any left over chassis flex. If you could get someone to videotape your launch, play it back in slow-mo, and see if the back of the car dips or twists or etc. And if you could get them to tape each side, too, that'd help. If you're burying the right rear tire, that's traction lost (caused by chassis twist, by the rotation of the whole drivetrain- not caused by having an open rear or a posi)

That sucks! It suckes even more that you were 1/2 way from being able to swap the LT1 cam in from that point and save a few bucks on gaskets and fluids. I do wonder why the transmission would shift firmer 2/3/4 if it has the lower tension 1/2 spring, which I'm not too fond of since it makes it shift quicker from 1 to 2.
