Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
you dont need a bigger tb the stock one is more than enough for the tiny 2.8. He was probably laughing at the overall size of the motor and not at the TB.

There is a larger throttle body available through a place in Canada (don't have the link handy, they're building one for Redraif for her modded 3.4). There is no other factory throttle body that is any larger that will work (3.1 and 3.4 are the same size) . Some have adapted TPI style twin throttle bodies, but I question the benefit since they retain the most restrictive part of the air intake...the stock plenum.

if the 3.4L uses the same TB as my 2.8 i think i am doing fine. i'll just tell my brother that the guys in japan that desighned his engine were trying to compensate for somthing they were lacking... in um... other areas of there life

Stock plenum can be modified to take advantage of the larger bore TB, otherwise it is a wasted effort and expense. Here is one that is made by a European fellow that I have on my 3.4 which approx. 58mm

BitchinRS, I haven't heard much from him in quite a while so not sure if he's still doing them, but the 2.8s were very popular in Finland so would guess that he may still have them.
Here is his email if you are interested and would like some more info:

I'll keep trying to see if I can locate him. He had an '88 Camaro SC at the time but this is going back a few years. Things happen, and nothing is forever, though
BTW, my TB does measure 62mm at the widest point but narrows to 58mm right at the throat where the butterfly starts. I was being conservative as to the actual efficiency and volume that can possibly pass thru at the narrowest point.
