Fastest way is w/engine running, hood open, drop it in 1st gear, stand on the brakes, tap on the gas pedal (power brake) If the left side of engine raises, drivers side mount is broken. To check the other mount, repeat order in reverse gear. If you want to check the trans mount, put a jack under the tail shaft and jack it up a little, if it's broke you will see a gap in the rubber. You can also here a distinctive thump on hard acceleration and cornering.

Just look at them. If they are bad they'll be squished and beat up looking. The engine will sit lower and the clamshell might even be touching the crossmember.

BTW, I hate doing these motor mounts 'cause I can never get the thru-bolt back in. That $hit never lines up right.
