Couple questions?

I just want to say thanks for all the help u guys have given me so far, it been great.

I notice that sometimes when i start my car a ton of blue smoke pours out fo the exhuast and sometimes very little comes out and sometimes none, mainly little to none, but it does come out alot sometime on me. Could this be valve cover gaskets? But if it were them, wouldn't it be bad all the time?

The other thing i noticed today is and a couple of other days it when i start the car, it doesn't jump up to 2000 or so and then come down, it starts and stay at 700, revs fine but when i let offf the gas, drops right back to 700, not smooth like it should, just a quick drop. Then i shut it off and restart it, it goes back to normal. Any ideas?
Thanks

bad valve seals. / 2-3 bad seals. so only when the ones with leaky seals are left open when you shut the car off, oil run into the cylinders and make smoke. Then sometime the leaky ones are closed when you shut it off and you get no or little smoke.
