balancer bolt thread size?

Did a lot of searching for balancer / timing chain installation and determined that the best method if an installer is not available is to use a threaded rod. I just wanted to verify that the threads are 7/16 -20 fine (for the 2.8). The posts where I saw this were in general engine tech so I wasn't sure if it is the same for 2.8 and 305/350.

It is metric. Definitely not the same bolt the small blocks use.

Any idea what size? I want to prepare a rod as mentioned by others but want to be prepared ahead of time as it is my only vehicle for getting around right now.
