Power Steering Pump Replacement

Has anyone replaced their power steering pump on a v6?? Can you get the bolts out w/o pulling the front pully?

I have a 3.4 pump and bracket as extra. I read somewhere the bracket changes its location. However, is the pump itself the same?

Need help fast as I plan to take the car on its first road trip this coming weekend and dont have much time during the week.

..

Gotta pull the pulley, no choice. Rent it from Oreily's, Autozone or another. The braxket for the 3.4 is different I believe (I'm almost positive it is).

Oh yeah: The pumps are the same . I actually used my spare that came with the 3.4 on a buddies TA w/ V8.

Jay, just like the other post stated, you should also replace the tensioner.

A bad tensioner is almost always the result of one of the other accesories going bad (Waterpump, alt, A/C,etc). When the tensioner is not functioning properly, it will create increased strain on the bearings of everything else.

This is not always the case, but mostly- old age is the other factor.

Use original vehicle PS brackets onto the later pump from 3.4 engine.
Use original vehicle PS pulley onto the 3.4 pump.
Thsoe damn hoses are pain in butt for tightening, tho.
