coil smokage prolly damaged the ICM (or the ICM fried the coil) ... hopefully nothing seriously wrong went down and the ECU is still okay. Major diagnostics time.

Car: a car being parted out
Engine: blown up
Transmission: in peices
overdraw in coil will also hit the ignition modulator. That goes and no spark as well. The modulator was put in place from the old HEI systems to help protect the ECM from feed back.

If you can get ahold of a 90-92 3.1 harness, I have a map sensor and good ECM that I could get ya.

Just nit-picking, but it's an ignition module, not a "modulator"...

According to M-O-D it is a modulator. but since were all americans we go with module.

Question. Why would one pull the ecm fuse when the car died?

Last time my ignition module fried I spent 30 bucks and swapped it in a parking lot in about 10 minutes with no prior experience replacing an ignition module.... seriously man, time to start doing your own work

But the 350 has the same ignition system. So the problem would have been the same.

lol must be ignition related and not valve float related

i still have 205XXX miles on my car, and its about time some stuff starts to fail, motor goes, new car, or new bigger motor

The 350 is an older HEI system, little easier to work on, or atleast to me
