What your actually doing is slowing down your accessorys.
Using crank and alt removes to much from the alt on our cars, causing major strain on a daily driver. Race or often race, run it.
Their is no w/p pully for our cars, no way to even make one.
Belt length will depend on year and your accessorys. Whoever you buy one from should guide you on this. Cost for belt is 15-40 depending on brand, store, and your location.

i run the crank and alt pulleys on my car and its a daily driver. i have no problems with it, not even at night with the headlights on. no, i've never seen a water pump pulley for us either.
dale, why do you say that there's no way to make a water pump pulley?

the pulley comes with list of belt #'s that are supposed to fit your particular accessory combo........However.........You might end up like I did and have to put the stock pulley back on, drive to the parts store, reinstall the underdrive pulley, and make several trips in and out installing different belts until you get the size that fits, then pay for that one.

I did the string method and it still didn't work, the belt was wrong length, I forget which way. I ended up doing what coolrimsatleast did after walking the parts store a few times. Was not a good day.

Which pulley did you get? Since you have an 89 2.8 Auto like mine we should be able use the same belt length w/ the same pulley. Could you post the P/N for the belt you got?

if you did the string method and the belt didn't fit, you probably got a belt as long as the string. you have to take into account the belt tensioner. you need to subtract about 2 inches to keep tension on the belt.

I got it wrong, wp pully should be larger,
Anyway, I have yet to see one for us. And any other ride that comes with 3 pully, they seem to have overheating problems as daily drivers.

So how do you like the increase in your gas milage. The pully will pay for it self in the first few tanks.
