i got a fiero

I was wondering since many of you guys is saying that fiero is basically the same as our 2.8. So my friend has two of those car is he's dismanteling it to get the frame for a lamb, and i asked him to give me to motor and trans, he said go get it, he told me it has a motor on the back of the car and a manual trans.
My question is the manual trans will fit my car.I am not wooried about the motor just want the valve covers.Anybody can enlight me with that......

Nope, they are transverse mounted. Basically like FWD.

if you junk the 2.8 out of the fiero and dump in a stock l67 3.8 supercharged engine with the 5spd and heavy duty axels you will have a hell of a car. modify the l67 and bingo instant hotrod.

he's not puttin a motor in the fierro but on that note...why not put a small block in the fierro? i've seen a few of them...that'll make a fast little car!

I know a guy to ask about fiero's but he's a dick.. so ill just provide what i know.. yes northstar, chevy/poncho 350, and even a 4.3 most part, a light weight, mid-engine car, with a powerplant that puts out at least 250+ hp and equal or more tq... you're talking some decent times... i can hook ya up with some sites if you need.... nice cars if you fit in one.. also, for your friend, a lambo body kit does not look anything like the real thing on a fiero chassis... and yeah, fiero valve covers are like fwd covers...so if fwd will fit a rwd, then go for it.. just providing input from a stang dude.

i used to be a huge v8 buff. then i got into the whole weight reduction thing. why add all the weight of a iron v8 for a 12 sec feiro? i know guys with l67's in thiers running 12 and better with less work. same reason i want to put an l67 into a firebird. lighter, and strong as hell. they are rated for 400hp from the factory. see zzperformance.com or intense-racing.com

plus for the same power as my buddies irock my grandprix gets 20mpg. thats hard to pull in a v8. but everybody has thier own gig. hopefully ill be able to pull off the project. i think it would be cool. i think the fwd covers are a little different but yo would have to line them up

I wish I got 20mpg from my L67

Yes, the fiero valve covers fit on our 2.8/3.1/3.4 engines. Never seen a fwd valve cover fit on a rwd engine though

i just put an intercooler and a 3.0 pulley on mine. i have way to much work on this thing lol. go with a cai, ubend delete, and a 3.4 pulley with a mps system (you will want to mod after you get the real feel) i find that only using boost at the track and getting on the highway help alot. i usually drive around not pushing the pedal any more than half way. im getting 20mpg city with a cam, rockers, and a mess of other good stuff. i cant wait to see what effects will happen when i get one of these motors in a firebird either auto or stick. its gonna be nasty

got the u-bend and cai already.

dont have the funds for the 3.4 I want

:delete link:

I usually try and drive the maro intown because it gets better mpg on cheaper gas, better handling, and I dont care if it gets rock chips, door dings, etc.

Ive got a 87 fiero GT.The reason the "front wheel drive" valve covers fit is because it is the same iron block and heads. The GEN II 2.8/3.1 with aluminum heads has the different valve covers.

If anyone wants a set of fiero valve covers for $20+ shipping I have a set.

How were the Fiero seats?? Were they in good shape? They'll fit in the f-body! I haven't seen good-shape Fiero seats yet... some jerk always cuts thru the headrest to get the speakers out. Morons.
