performance torque converter help

performance torque converter help

lookin for a good torque converter for a better acceleration in my 3.1. who makes one and whats the best one to get and what is the part number for this torque converter

If you do a <a href="search.php?s="><img src="images/top_search.gif" alt="Search" border="0"></a> on the Transmission/Drivetrain forum, look for messages by a guy named "transfixleo"- he had a v6, and put an aftermarket torque convertor in it. And if you find out what kind he got, let us know!!

i have one. its from road runner convertors in AZ. i got it off of ebay. first, they sent me a V8 one so i got in touch with them and they said it was no problem...i sent it back and they built mine and sent it to me. i like it, a lot!

Transmission: DYT700R4 custom inerts and conv.
I have a custom pretty much one of a kind convertor made. My V6 trans case was fitted with a V8 imput shaft (stronger) along with every other latest and greatest tricks and goodies that can be installed into a 700R4 ecept for the 5-planetary gears. This trans just has the stock 4 planetary setup- it will last forever with this same HP motor. My V8 truck has the 5 in it. Both have a .521 boost valve and 13vane blueprinted vavlebodies also, plus much much more that I can't possibly remember everything- Trannies are a foriegn language, I'm lucky to have a friend in the buisiness to just take care of my needs.

The convertor is a custom build 9" convertor with a very low stall speed for that size allowing me to still utilize the car for roadracing and normal street driving while reducing rotation mass. I will have to get Jimmy G. (Darrel Youngs) to have another one duplicated when the time comes I need another- but again, it will not fit onto a stock V6 700r4 imput shaft.
