Anyone tried a 4.3L transplant?

Anyone out there tried a 4.3L transplant? My daily driver (For now) is a 99 GMC Safari Van with a 4.3L Vortec engine and a (Ailing) 4L60E tranny. I got to thinking about dropping a 4.3L Vortec under the hood of my 82 Camaro. Reality check anyone?

The important thing to remember, is that the work to put in a 4.3 is the EXACT same as a SBC. It uses V8 mounts, accessories, trans, the whole deal. IMO, it isnt worth it, for the mediocre gain. Especially when SBC's are soooooo cheap. Thats just my opinion though. Oh yeah, and when somone steps in about gas mileage, honestly, there isnt a whole lot of difference between the 4.3 and a SBC.

the 4.3 is basically a 350 minus 2 cylinders, save the time and money get a 3.4 or go 350
