Quick timing question, somebody please answer!

What is the proper timing setting for the 3.1? I dont have an underhood sticker and my Haynes doesnt list it. Right now im at about 12-15* advanced. Is that too much? My mileage sucks someone please help!!!

10 DEGREES IS STOCK. Mine runs better at the stock setting then it did when i would advance it to 12.

yeah, stock is 10*, but I run up at 18* btdc and get 23-24 mpg(M/T). I'm lovin' life right now. something to think about...if you have a misfire, then your milage WILL go down. even a small one will hurt you, if you notice a little shakyness at idle, then something is amiss. just a thought on where to look for milage.

btw...those engine mods will hurt too. especially the 3.73's. you'll probably run something like 3K rpm at 70mph.

You could just have leaky valves. Id do some compression / leak down test.
